We’re back doing strength!

So today marks the first time back at the iron paradise! My local gym actually opened a few days ago but I thought I’d give them a couple of days to get into the swing of things but headed in at 6.30am (my allotted time) this morning.

I’m still currently following the 80/20 maintenance plan as there are no immediate events planned but that does call for 2 strength sessions a week. Previously I had been performing these at home using a combination of resistance bands and household items that roughly met the requirements which certainly served the job but don’t offer the same level of progression.

What was pleasant to observe is that my strength particularly around plyometrics appears to have improved since last visit. At the end of my hour long session I hadn’t managed to complete the full 3 circuits but it wasn’t too far off. I did have to take time to clean all equipment between each exercise.

During the summer it’s unlikely I’ll have to venture back into the gym for any running or cycling sessions but I’ll certainly have to visit for both strength and swim sessions
