Received a message from my coaches asking for a list of all the races I’m entering and priority of races so that they can factor my training periodisation in to ensure I’m at my best for my A events.
I’d given some thought to some goals last year but hadn’t truly considered what my priorities were. I knew I wanted to do longer triathlon distances and my swimming would need more work, I knew I wanted to tackle an ultra of some description, and I knew I wanted to enter some cycling events as it’s my strongest discipline. Yet aside from that I also knew that I wanted to spread my events out more, and that I didn’t want to travel far for every event.
With that in mind, here is my preliminary 2022 race schedule:
A Events
Race to the tower (Ultra) – 25 Jun 22
Ironman 70.3 Cascais Portugal (tri) – 16 Oct 22
B Events
Cardiff half marathon – 27 Mar 22
Tewkesbury half marathon – 15 May 22
Beyond Cotswold Tri – 17 Sep 22
C Events
Beyond Devon sportive – 12 Mar 22
Evesham 10k – 3 Jul 22
Tempo Spring Duathlon – 27 Feb 22
I’m fairly certain I’ll throw in a couple of more social b/c events as the season unfolds but this is likely to be the main plan!
